About tools, DD-graph is ok. But I prefer Photoshop, really. Faster and accurate, you can do everything with it. Then, get the final product in RAW format and convert it.
imho DD-Graph works just fine.. and it is pretty much accurate to me
same goes for Graphsaurus 2 to make tiles (wasn't mentioned here I think).
over here you can find some cool never used before game GFX
oh oh oh dear snøut.. can you add previews of those gfx to those pages ? PNG orso

Then it wouldn't be really necessary to download them from the download database anymore

bingo
read: it wouldn't be necessary anymore to download them before you can see them. Works faster that way..
Ps.
<-- 999
It kinda defeats the purpose of 'downloads' tho
Congratz on being upside-down-satan on the postcount too
Oh.. I AM planning to make a complete RPG
But I want to make it for the PC first. If it is fun to play, I maybe want to make it for the MSX also. Thats why I need those 'simple' tiles and sprites, so it is easier to make a MSX version.
I find the gameplay much more important then those 3D graphics.
Interesting...
But don't you think you will become bored with it after you made the PC version?
It's also difficult to keep in mind the capabilities of the MSX when you make the PC version. You're likely to either underestimate or overestimate the possibilities.
If you need help with MSX programming or want to chat with fellow MSX'ers, download or launch mIRC and visit #msxdev @ Rizon IRC :D
You could check the MRC Contacts list. There are many MSX-ers out there dying to get into some development team. All we need is a little bit of communication.
Sure... the PC version could be somewhat nicer but the most important thing is the story line and the graphics/sounds/music.
But the engine should be rebuild from scratch, which option I choose...
I havent programmed for the MSX for some time.
You'll get the hang of it... I more or less did, even after a 5-year break... Ofcourse I sucked to begin with, but hey I'm right back at the sucky level where I left off
About your problem... I think people should indeed recognize that it _is_ a problem. If you can't draw, you just can't... period. And you're really not going to find graphicians falling out of the sky like wolfy suggest. Finding a muscian is one -difficult enough- thing, finding a graphician is a whole different ballgame.
So yeah, I understand you going for ripped graphics and I don't see it as much of a problem. Ofcourse you might want to look for different-platform graphics indeed. With a little fiddling Amiga graphics tend to look great on MSX... Ask Fuzzy Logic
Make an MSX game though... Two reasons... First of all people will actually download it , people are more likely to enjoy/appreciate it and you'll be helping out a community that hasn't seen a lot of new software lately...
Which reminds me... I need to get working on StarShip DeJaVu again....
