I think there are at least 10 ppl crawling around here, chained with ropes to a metal ball in a dark dungeon, who you could ask to draw a few thingies for ya.., unless it's a complete RPG ofcourse ^^: .. but if you only request a few players/enemies, and some cliche tiles .. it won't take gfx artists much time..

About tools, DD-graph is ok. But I prefer Photoshop, really. Faster and accurate, you can do everything with it. Then, get the final product in RAW format and convert it.

About using ready made tiles, this humble pirate accepts it and promotes it. Some other copyright geeks won't agree. So, don't let them play YOUR game, that's all.

What do you mean "that's all"? You can't stop someone from playing your game, just like there's no way you can stop someone from visiting a website. I've seen you make statements like this on your pages before, as if it would protect you legally. So here's a recent precedent:

Lindows was forced to change to Linspire world-wide, because Microsoft won a case in ONE country so that Lindows couldn't use the name Lindows anymore. So Lindows changed it, but that was not enough, because users from that country could still visit their global website, either directly or via proxy (in case of IP block) and see/download Lindows...

So either I'm completely mistaken, or statements like "if you're a *** employee you are not allowed to visit this page or download this product" only make you look foolish and suspicious.

Legally, I could say: this game is freeware for everyone but for GuyveR800. GuyveR800, if you want to play this game, you should send me 995 euros.

So, it is up to you to accept my terms or not.

you can't even claim your game is freeware if it contains ripped (copyrighted) graphics... Also, not allowing people to play it is discriminating so it won't have any chance in court.

I think pitpan is pretty much aware of the fact that would be discriminating. He's just trying to pinpoint the legal situation and is trying to show the flexibility of intellectual rights.

over here you can find some cool never used before game GFX, I'm sure there is a lot more material like this available. Many GFX were drawn for projects that were never finished. So despite the legal situations, I can only agree with MrRudi: MSX is all about creating stuff yourself. If you ask around on the MRC you'd probably find someone to create new GFX or to deliver old GFX for you.

then he should rephrase his reply.

I don't see why he should do that. He's in discussion with GuyveR800 and tries to explain intellectual flexibilities. Back on topic, please! Smile
