Does anyone know anything about this game for MSX2 (company: Nihon Dexter)?

Does this exist!!!??

I want to know more! It was one of my favourite games for the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM. Really fancy graphics and high playability! Both platform and adventure games elements. A wise combination to entertain all the users!

Giveme details!

There's a reference to this game in the section "Collectable of Japan" of the Spanish MSX magazine "MSX-Club" in number 79 (November 1991).

According to MSX-Club the novelties listed in the magazine were taken from the japanese magazine "MSX Magazine". I don't own the MSX-Magazine number of October 1991, maybe the game appears reviewed there.

Also take a look at:
http://www.retrogames.com/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/showpost.pl?Board=retrogamescpcg&Number=628

By the way, undoubtedly, this is the game that I'm sure that it has a MSX1 and a MSX2 version:

My opinion is that, still nowadays, half the games made for MSX aren't in the Net :/

MSX Magazine often reported about games 'to be released', some of them were not released in the end. I remember several articles on Sim City for MSX... :/

If we do not know more about this game we can think of two reasons:

1.-It was never published.
2.-It was published but it was absolutely awful.

I believe that option 1 is the right one in this case.

And about Adventure Island from Hudson, never heard about an MSX2 version until now. Sounds too cool to be true, unluckily.

I think that this could be true.
Heroes of the Lance was reported too and there is a "unofficial" version floating around.
This version also use FM music.
The Wonderboy game could be a unreleased or awful game.
Maybe both things.
This game is on the Japanese MSX game list.

More than half of the MSX games aren't on the NET.
Does anyone know anything about Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
?
This game and Zork are freeware for other computers.
I think that Actvision gave the rights to download all the versions of those games.
If the MSX games are freeware too , we should track down one copy!
There is another game from Parallax that is freeware now.
We only need to find one good copy.
I also have one freeware game that comes into a compressed file from MSXFAN.
It's a freeware version of the Circus game.
The 1977 Exidy (Circus) title.
If you count all the games that are from Magazines and books you have a lot of cool games to get.
MSX Magazine have some of the old games for sale on CD-ROM.

The aim of the MRC downloads database is to collect all freeware/public domain titles (for MSX) out there. However, often we don't know for sure if titles are freeware/pd or not. If you were involved in the development of products that are freeware/pd, send them to download@msx.org, we will gladly host them.

If there are products of which you think they are freeware/pd, send us a list, we'll try and find out if that's true or not.

That's true... there where some screenshots about Terra Cresta too IIRC...

But the difference with Wonder Boy is what Ivan said... he really played the game, so... if he's sure about it... Wink

Maybe anybody knows a japanese person who could tell something about it... anybody from Gigamix, perhaps??

This game is present in the current MSX1 Disk list compiled by TOSEC as "Hitchika (1984)(Infocom).dsk". These files are posted every now and then to alt.binaries.emulators.misc. I have a copy of HGTTG, so it's "out there".

The TOSEC list is really really bad :/

I'm not arguing, but it's the most complete and "official" list of MSX software out there. If the bugs in the list bother you, I suppose you could always submit corrections.

Is there a reason to be anti-TOSEC that I'm not aware of? As a simple user, I simply appreciate their naming/checksum standardization efforts.
