MSX-veterans Delta Soft have updated their website. You can read all about their latest game under development: Thunderbirds to the Rescue. This game runs on MSX2, MSX2+ and turbo-R, supports the Moonsound, and will be released on disk and on Compact Flash. Screenshots of this new production and a promo version can both be obtained from the Delta Soft website. The Delta Soft members are on the lookout for a Moonsound composer for their game. If you're qualified and interested, do drop them an email!

Ahh, come on. None has got something nice to say about the promo. Especially after we are putting so much work in Thunderbirds to the Rescue.

Well, let me add one positive thing then. I think it's a very good development that you're actually using screen 8. That's an extremely undervalued screenmode on MSX2 which was hardly ever used in games (not even in many intro screens as far as I remember).

I'll wait on commenting the gameplay until there's actually a bit more game to play Tongue

Well, the fact is that there is no in-game screen, nor a playable level...
So it is hard to comment, unless you are a superfan of the Thunderbirds

Well, I do like the use of MoonSound in the Promo. Good quality samples! (Well, some are of the original series, so they sound a bit old ;-) And most graphics look quite polished as well. Keep it up! I wonder if you can really make a 25MB big MSX2 game Smile

Thanx for the reactions guys. I a way Thunderbirds to the rescue will be a lot like the first adventure Thunderbirds are go. The reason for the CF version being so big is of the full screen (8) pictures. Till now the game already consists of 214 screen 8 pictures time 54 kb = 11,5 mb. We are planning to use a lot sample (wavkits), which each go up to 128 kb.

Nice. Btw. When running from compact flash you could leave the music on during loading.
