The Mega Flash ROM is a cartridge which holds a flash memory. Together with other characteristics, it is an ideal storage device for .ROM-files. There is even an SCC version available. For this, an original Konami SCC cartridge will be modified.

In our forum there already has been an interesting discussion about this product right here. Furthermore, .ROM-files are copyright protected. The device itself isn't illegal, you can only use it legally if you own the original ROM-cartridges, though.

Anyhow, as of today, the official Mega Flash ROM website is also available in english.

This type of cartridge also is quite useful for making and testing your selfmade ROM titles.

Yes! This is one of the hardware elements that I prefer. If the program works when uploaded to this cartridge, then you can go to the electronic shop and burn some EPROMS.

I have made some 1024KB models.
About speed, 512KB are flashed and patched in 11 seconds.

In terms of speed I was more referring to speed during the game .. is the speed high enough to stream images without already playing music getting hickups ?

The speed is exactly the same as the original cartridge. If you mean reading data from the cartridge, then the speed is limited by the MSX it self. You can also use it as ROM disk, with its own drive letter.
