For many years, MCCW (MSX Computer & Club Webmagazine), the continuation on internet of the famous Dutch MCCM (MSX Computer & Club Magazine), was hosted on the Aktu domains. Aktu was a publishing company which also published MCCM. From what we have understood, Aktu has been taken over by HUB uitgevers. One of the other magazines Aktu was publishing is PC-Active. Right here we can read that HUB uitgevers indeed has taken over PC-Active as well.

The take-over endangers the hosting of MCCW and therefore, it has been decided that from now on, MCCW will be hosted by Henk van de Kamer on his Het Lab-domain.

And the same counts for the MCCM site, including MiLC.

And thanks a million to Henk van de Kamer for hosting the sites!

Just received the latest PC-Active. Wammes Witkop waves goodbye as editor-in-chief. The magazine indeed has been sold to HUB Uitgevers. All the people involved in PC-Active though make their move to the new publisher. For PC-Active, nothing is going to change. Apart from Wammes that is. Although he will keep delivering his columns to the magazine, it seems like he has taken a step back considering PC-Active and publishing in general.

Is it the end of an era? Well, I'm pretty sure Wammes has had enough influence on his crew over the last 20 years. I'm damned sure they will keep publishing PC-Active in the great way they've always been doing it.

Probably, Wammes will have some more time for himself now. I hope he enjoys it Smile

10 years later, PC-Active has been sold to HCC and is now the biggest computer magazine in Holland. Wammes has stopped contributing content. It's the end of his columns.

Funny how the MSX part isn't mentioned at all in the Dutch Wikipedia site of PC-Active:
