A few days ago we received from MRC user and fellow admin Tobias Keizer (Sonic_aka_T) a new version of ViewMSX. ViewMSX is a tool designed for Windows PCs that allows the user to view a wide range of supported MSX image/video formats. New in this version:

  • Fixed SC2/SC4 color table error, reported by hap
  • Added minimize function
  • Support for MSX1 palette with SC2 files
  • Updated the preferences dialog

Also new are two versions of the tool: one intended for use on MacOSX and the other for use on GNU/Linux. Those are still experimental, and might show bugs or incorrect behavior compared to the win32 version.

Hmm, the GNU/Linux version seems to be version 0.01...

I've seen that too, but they have been sent to me as being the latest versions. Besides, the Linux version has the 'count colors' feature, absent in #0.01

Yeah, actually the OS X and Linux versions weren't intended for public release, I just mailed those so [D-Tail] and Jorito could use them. Both are very beta and also somewhat limited in their use. I don't think I'll be updating those versions either by the way... The new windows release is fairly stable though, and does indeed contain some minor updates compared to previous versions.

Oop, sorry 'bout that, Toby... Either way, maybe I could see if I get it compiled properly for use under linux?
