SymAmp, the music player for SymbOS supporting multiple kinds of song modules, has been released as version 2.1 today. SymAmp supports the new decoder card MP3MSX created by DD and Yobi, and is able to play MP3 songs of nearly any size and bitrate. You can also directly adjust the bass, treble, balance and volume settings of this fresh piece of hardware. On YouTube you can watch a video, showing SymAmp and the MP3MSX card in action.

Apart from MP3 files, SymAmp also plays SKM (CPC Starkos modules), ST2 (CPC Soundtrakker 128 modules) and PT3 (ZX Spectrum Protracker and Vortex Tracker) modules on the MSX2, via the PSG.
The new version contains several improvements:
- 5 seconds fast forward / backward feature
- click noise prevention
- ID3 umlaut correction
- lots of bug fixing (song skipping, songlist management, fileinfo display and more)
Please note, that you need the preview version of SymbOS 2.0 to be able to execute SymAmp 2.1.
