Xvid4 works for me. Note that usually I create videos with BlueMSX...

Given what the docs says (32-bit codec), it sounds like you need to find a program that can use the 32-bit codec, take the lossless file, and convert it into a format that your video editor accepts.

All the stages can be solved without "pixel perfect" jumps (mainly because I hate them, haha). Of course, some stages allow more than one way to solve them, and some solutions may require perfect jumps... but there is always at least one solution without them.
The pixel perfect jump is 4 chars wide. In that stage, the hardest jump is a 3 chars wide + 1 char up, that shouldn't be really hard (the margin is about 6 or 7 pixels, and previous stage features several of that).

If you are still stuck, maybe we can open a new forum thread with a big "spoilers inside" warning, haha!

I guarantee you it has a solution without perfect jump.

You can make it jump (once) when it's over the box, and then you can safely move the box.

I'm enyoing this game a lot, it's quite addictive!
Why not having a password per level? Like in King's Valley, for example. So far I haven't seen any after more than 10 screens... unless I'm missing something or perhaps there's some trick I haven't found yet.
In any case, congrats for the game Nestruo and wonder, it's great
(I'm one of those who looked inside, by the way!)

By "second batch" I only mean the originally manufactured cartridges ("the first batch") sold out, and a new batch of cartridges were ordered to be available again.
The game is exactly the same.

The game is available on cartridge. These cartridges are produced in batches (groups). In a batch (group) a certain number of cartridges will be produced. The first batch sold out pretty quickly. So they made a new batch and you can order the cartridge again. The game is the same for the first batch and the second. I received my copy today, I'm looking forward to playing it!

I have completed the game and I have enjoyed every single bit of it. Admittedly, I have dumped the cartridge and played on emulator. This gave me endless rewinds and savestates, and still the game was very challenging.

The physics engine is superb. It allows for smooth gameplay and yet very forgiving controls. There's a great variety of enemies, and they get upgraded in higher levels. The levels are crafted carefully, they come in a great variety of themes and they become hard very quickly. All in all, the game is a contender for the title "best puzzle platformer since KV2".

(@Hamlet, we need a level of this for the Christmas Quiz 2021!)

Did you reached the good ending (stage 36) or the bad one (stage 30)?
About the physics engine, it is based on MSXlib with a few minor modifications. Documentation is lousy or non-existent at the moment... but if someone wants to use it, please give me a call and I will try to explain the obscure parts.

Haha! I must admit I had problems to finish it in real hardware when testing it (mainly because I knew the solution and tried to reach it fast... and in this game "going fast" is not always a good idea, haha!)

Yes, I have reached both endings. I had seen the messages here and I knew what I had to do. Nearly missed the star in level 18 though. I had played that a few times already, until I suddenly saw it and realized I had to adjust my route. After completing the game, I used an older savestate, missed a star on purpose and got to see the bad ending as well.

Awesome if you could make a custom build for the Xmas Quiz. I've had lots of fun with Dan's KV2 level last december. Took me two days to solve that one. I bet you have some rejected levels laying around. Just pick the hardest of them all and make us sweat.

Every great game deserves a dedicated password generator. I had the idea to make one for Stevedore from the moment I first saw it. But it takes time to work out the password scheme of course. Your password generator is correct! Extra kudos for coding it in MSX-BASIC!!
Just out of curiosity: Did you guessed the two byte addresses by peeking with and emulator and then compared with the MSXlib code? Or did you reverse engineered / disassembled the entire game?

I only read your code, worked out what it did and decoded the few passwords I had. That revealed enough information to understand the password payload and build the password generator.

One more secret...? Nice! I hope it'll be found one day.

Yup. People that have take a look inside the ROM image may have found a few strings that are not used during the game (besides the "hidden" grettings) and may have guessed what they are for... ^_^

I had to take a look into the code to uncover the secret. But I have found it. There's a hidden sound test on the title screen. To activate it, press SPACE + W. I guess W means Wonder? And is there a way to get out of it?

Yes! That's it! And yes, "W" is for Wonder!
Now everyone can enjoy Wonder's music in a relaxed manner, without spiders and skeletons accidentally killing you ^_^
