Near Dark released a new version of Runit, a tool which can be used to start disk images from IDE and SCSI media such as Harddisk, ZIP or CompactFlash. The tool is an improved version of the popular START.COM, but uses less (and a different part of the) memory, making it possible to run more games with it. Furthermore a feature was added to allow MSX-AUDIO support in several Compile games. A list of game compatible with Runit can be found in this forum topic.

Is it just me or isn’t the file in the Tools section anymore? The link in the forum thread works though.

You can add Pacmania for MSX2 to the list of supported dsks.

Please remind me, what does adapt.com do exactly?

It can patch some disk operations of games which normally don't work, doesn't work for every game.

I still need to find out why Firehawk doesn't work, it does only use sectorbased operations. Even adapt didn't help

I finally found out what adapt.com really does

it replaces ld ix,$4010 with ld ix,$FFA7 so it will work with start.com because start.com changes the H.PHYD call en re-routes the bdos calls $2F and $30 (read sector / write sector) to H.PHYD
