On the 20th of July Okei updated her website and added a patch for MultiMente 2.07A. In fact it consisted of a bugfix: the dates in MultiMente were not displayed the way they should be. Recently, the same patch for MultiMente 2.07K was released.

One more thing: what's the difference between K and A? I thought K was the Japanese version and A the English version. Correct?

Yup, you're correct at that. Try using Babelfish @ her site Wink

Okei recently updated the patch for Multi Mente v2.07.

http://www.ucatv.ne.jp/~kmizuo/MMpatch.html

Does someone have the original archive of the ank version? I only have the Japanese version.
I found the archive mm207_a.lzh (46kB) on several web sites but it doesn't seem to be the original.

This site might have them. Hmm, that is K version indeed...

I think original archive should named MM207_A.PMA and should contain 2 files (MM.COM & MM.EXE) because I have the two archives MM203_A.PMA and MM205_A.PMA.
The file date should be 1996.

MM 2.03K also only had 2 files but 2.07K had more files (the config files and CS.COM a.o.). I suspect it should be the same with 2.07A. The 2.07A+ version from MFR has these extra files as well, it is unclear what the was changed/added for the + version. The Okei patches can be applied to the 2.07A+ release without issue though.

Here are MM archives I think original:

https://mon-partage.fr/f/JbZoa6Hq/

I think archives uploaded by Gigamix are not the originals but the files inside seem all the originals.

Good find, yes gigamix already says they are repackaged (to make it easier to unpack on modern PCs most likely).

Thanks a lot for these. Did you analyze the difference between these and the + version?

I intended to do it but as my posts on MM meet little success, I did not put a lot of energy. I'm only working on MM a little sometime.

Okei's Y2K patch doesn't work on Novaxis SCSI interface. It works on Sunrise CF with Nextor driver.

Hmm Novaxis is an outlier of course, not many people will use it. What happened (the not working part I mean)?

I will see if there are a lot of changes between 2.07A and 2.07A+, analyzing the difference from assembly feels a little over my head (but if it’s just a few bytes who knows Wink

Probably but it's still astonishing, and it is possible that the problem also occurs on other interfaces.

The patch seems to have no effect. There are random characters in place of the date and time display.

The v2.07++ that I released displays the date and time correctly.

Release Candidate 4. (Fourth release before the finale)

Yeah but no final was made (I never saw it here at least). The RC4 was not working well for me BTW as I remember (it crashed), it may have been due to applying settings with CS. The long weird string in the config tells CS how to patch MM.COM to apply the changes. May also have been something else of course.

I‘d love to give it a try if you let me know which release of the 2.07A++ is the latest.

I found a mm207_a.lzh on msxarchive.nl. According to the LEES.MIJ (READ.ME) there never was a 2.07_A release and the author of this archive created the 2.07_A release from the 2.07_K release using texts from the 2.05_A release (whilst sometimes using alternative translations due to space limitations).

This is the archive I mentioned above. The original is probably in PMA format. In addition, several files inside have been modified, especially the MM.COM that it is bigger than the original (probably for the y2k fix).

Whoops!

I meant to say: I realized that Okey had updated his patch and that the original archive was become introuvable to do right tests.

The issue is that there may never have been an MM207_A.PMA not even back in the day. According to the blog on gigamix the 2.07 was the development/test version and 2.03 was the last stable release. The test 2.07 may therefore not have been released as A (it might have been planned when it became stable but it never did). The LZH on msxarchive was indeed created by a Dutch guy from the Japanese K release.

I think I had it in the past. I searched in my old floppy disks and disks but I can't find it. Several disks have errors or no longer work. On the other hand, I found an archive dated 1996, the documentation of which was partially translated into French. I think the MM.COM that is in it has not been modified but I would like to be sure.

Why not implement joystick to use it as cursors.
