Last month wolf_ released Metal Gear 2007, an orchestral remake of the main theme of Konami's classic Metal Gear.

Encouraged by many downloads and fan-movies on Youtube he decided to remake another song he had already rearranged years ago: the intro theme to Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. The result? Solid Snake 2007. The previous version of Wolf's Metal Gear 2 intro demo tune can be found over here. Enjoy!

Always thought that arpeggio went like:
C# F# - E F# - C# F# - F# C# E F# - C# -

You seem to skip that C# -^

/me boots Solid Snake to check what the original sounded like...

Edit: yup, the original arpeggio has that C# ...

I must say that I don't share your vision of the song, but the sounds and how you use them is just delicious!

BTW nice time for release. Now you can collect points the whole month and we don't have to guess what is gonna be the first in the "MSX related downloads" list in next stats. Wink

hehe what a build up Tongue suspense galore... and indeed, nice soundpalette Smile
very sweet thing with the anime-esque pianochords and more bladerunner styled brass stuff.
Choirs and all make it a very heroic tune indeed... thumbs up from me ^_^
(told you you should cover this one Wink )

@MOA: mmmmmyes... LOL! Well, couldn't be bothered to check all things. I did all the tracking in 1 day (an evening and an afternoon), without checking. Technically speaking that line is an arpeggio, so it'd only take me a moment to change that single note, it'd be fixed everywhere, another mix render and done ye be.. but could I be arsed to do so? Ah! Now I get it. You make the mistake on purpose, then fix it, and then everybody has to download it again so the stats get even higher! Tongue

Unfortunately for Wolf the unique-dl-counter won't be reset. Evil

Hannibal

Well, internally I proposed to reset the counter, but it wasn't considered of groundbreaking importance as of yet (only a few tens of downloads).

Since NYYRIKKI didn't seem to like Wlof_'s version, maybe he likes this version better: http://www.jorito.net/files/msxmp3/mg2intro.mp3

It's an oldie already, but awell... ;)

And yes, Wlof_, I will submit it to the downloads database, along with some other songs... as soon as I can be arsed to boot up the ol' Windows PC and create proper MP3s out of 'em. Hint: beer = motivation + 10 ;)

nah, haven't done that one yet, and these MG7 and SS7 projects are merely 'upgrades' to those earlier released versions. I'm not sure how much time there's left for another tune (dev7 knocking the door, you know), but maybe I could do a 2007 revamp of DS6..
