Unfortunately Near Dark had to cancel their trip to Nijmegen and therefore wasn't able to promote D3SK, their third edition of game covers, from their first "own" booth since 1994, when they first started making music disks. Of course this is no reason to keep it under the lid until a next fair.

Near Dark wants to share this Moonblaster stereo music disk with all the MSX freaks world wide who like old school releases. For free! What to expect of D3SK (alias dIIIsk) De Idiootste Spellen Koffers part 3? There are no less than 25 covers of various games, from 1:1 covers from MSX Music supported games to souped up PSG games and rearranged SCC music. Don't waste your time listening silence, go to Meits' website and be the first one in your town to enjoy Near Dark's latest!

Graphics and music were made on MSX exclusively, but they cheated a bit on coding by using openMSX for its flexibility when stuff crashes.

Excellent work as usual with Meits! I don't know why, but it seems me the best work since Jarretenk in the Meits works using stereo Moonblaster (and Jarretenk remains my number one with Alto for the Moonsound excellence !!!).

Awesome music disk.

Is it supposed to work with a Moonblaster compatible cart? I have a DalSori cart and don't get any audio from it's output jack with this music disk. But I still get audio from the internal audio out on my Sony 2+ machine.

Yodd:
This is the hardware needed to play the music:

When reading the download page, you might run into this:

Quote:

Note 2: The music was made using MSX-Music and MSX-Audio each on their own speaker. Playing the music on any other way will result in a music experience which was not intended.

;)

Still having trouble marcoo? cause it does work.

In the meanwhile you can emulate it in openMSX with the mbstereo extension plugged in. FM-PAC is less than 50% of the music Wink

any of 'em... as long as you use the mb stereo formule, which is MSX Music on one side and MSX Audio on the other. Don't mix them on one channel.

Meits, that's a question of personal preference. I've checked several songs of your DSK and for me, I repeat for me, completely apart channels for each sound chip is not the best option. The blueMSX audio mixer allows to adjust what you want to hear for each sound chip, including the volume, exactly as on a physical audio mixer. One thing is the creator's choice, another thing is the end-user's choice.

I should not have precised that if you didn't have again repeated the same 'traditional mantra'. And you know that I really like all Near Dark creations, so it's not a negative feedback, just a question of freedom!

Yeah I wouldn’t get that one, too expensive. You can get one for half that. Keep an eye on Marktplaats and eBay.

Yeah, except that you miss half of it... (Your Sony has MSX-MUSIC, but the disk is meant for both MSX-MUSIC and MSX-AUDIO as it says...)
