As a Christmas present the RBSC offers a new video board for Yamaha YIS805 and similar MSX2 computers. The board is capable of producing the crisp picture on the RGB and S-Video outputs and decent quality color picture on the composite video output. On the Japanese models the S-Video connector matches the hole for the RF output, so you won't need to drill a new hole. The board allows to tweak the saturation and color balance of the video output to a user's liking. Also, as an option, the board can use the z80 CPU's frequency for the encoder chip in the NTSC mode. This allows to completely remove the color noise artifacts on the composite video. The project is open-source, as usual.

Enjoy the holiday season!

There's a clear warning to not connect it to a 503... what happens if you do? Tongue

The connector has reversed pinout on YIS805. Pin 1 is on the right there. If you use a pin header instead of the special connector, you may connect the cable incorrectly. As the brown wire can't be used as the key, you will send 12v to the side slot and potentially fry any video equipment there. So this is just a precaution.

I have a few bare boards and some components for sale, so I can sell those as a DIY kits. Assembling on-demand is also possible.
