After watching a Youtube clip of Aleste running with WORP3's MIDI PAC it turned out there was something peculiar going on with the drums. They ran one step behind the actual place they should be.
WORP3 got notified and he found the bug very quickly. It turned out that in Aleste the volumes of the drums are set after the drum is played and since Aleste only uses the snare drum in most of its music it sounds like the rhythm comes one step behind.
After some quick scanning through other Compile products it turned out that not only Aleste suffered this oddity. Another notable Compile game that suffers this issue as well is Golvellius 2. Therefore this issue is now informally referred to as the "Compile bug".
The fix in MIDI-PAC's firmware is only for this particular issue. In the meanwhile WORP3 is working on a new version which will be released somewhat later.
