After the release of MSXplug #1 no less than 3 new versions appeared in iTunes. With MSXplug you can connect your iPhone or iPad to the cassette port of your MSX and load games directly on your MSX - obviously one of the hippest ways to load games on MSX anno 2012.
Where MSXPlug #1 focused completely on games released by Taito, MSXPlug #2 contains 12 Namco games. MSXPlug #3 offers 15 games originally released by SEGA and to top it off MSXPlug #4 contains all 47 non-MegaROM games ever released by Konami.
Knowing that Apple has always been very strict about which titles to allow on iTunes it is surprising to see these MSXPlug collections make it to the App Store at all. Even pitpan, developer of MSXPlug, jokes around that it's "time to guess when Apple will crush my development license". One might wonder whether Apple is getting sloppy, companies like Taito and Konami have not noticed yet - even though they often sell remakes of the games offered on iTunes themselves - or that they have gradually become less strict about their copyrighted software for old platforms such as MSX.
