Exactly my thought. If buyer and seller both agree this could work well. Imagine everyone showing up with 50 euro bills. Who's gonna provide the change? Not to mention, how much cash should we each bring with us?

No I can be there early enough, it's the time of departure that was an issue. But 17:00 is fine.

Yes, unfortunally for the non-business buyers there was someone who buys MSX stuf for selling on the Internet as a business. Prizes went sky-high...

Unfortunate but it is the current situation, retro gaming is more popular than ever.
Can't really blame someone taking advantage of it either, even if it is annoying.

Well, I guess the people selling their equipment/stuff didn't mind the high prizes?

Probably not Hannibal

How things can change, I remember an msx fair in the early 2ks when people actually started to underbid because the asking prices were too high.

Have you found any of these items already online?

I've checked his webshop/ebay which I am not going to mention here, but its not up yet (or already sold dunno?). I assume its a matter of time until you see the items.

Yes the guy comes there most of the times.

I've discussed this issue before with people, some arguments that I hear is like what TFH says, its great for the sellers. If everyone just want to pay 5 euros for a 2+ then the sellers will just go elsewhere.

Ofcourse like everyone else I would like a cheap bargain but it is what it is. If this guy wont buy everything to flip it, there is bound to be someone else. Hell even I was tempted to do it last year when he wasn't there, but most of the times I see the other bidders and I just think to my self yeah he/she is a nice person, I'll just let them have it.

Edit. I was a bit harsh. Just leaving it to this one line: "I don't like those people a lot."

and again.....
he bought stuff for less money than the prices on current marktplaats and/or ebay..
else he would not make a profit.. easy
This means everybody else could have bought it for less money too.
The principle of an auction is that you outbid the others and still stay within you pricerange./budget...

im getting a bit tired of the mimimi every time after an auction..

its simply the way an auction works...even for a niche market like ours

I guess for us enthusiasts it is difficult to accept that our hobby is also a business for others.
