MSX Fair Nijmegen 2017 announced

The announcement for 2017's kick-off party in the form of the annual MSX meeting/fair in Nijmegen is coming later than what we are used to from previous years. The cause of this delay is that the organiser of the event, Manuel Bilderbeek aka Quibus, was informed by the municipality of Nijmegen that the previous venue (Wijkcentrum Hatert) was not available anymore in weekends for activities that were not related to its district, Hatert. Fortunately, after a long discussion with the municipality, they offered the alternative of community centre Wijkcentrum Dukenburg, which not only has the advantage of having a bigger room, it also has a Chinese restaurant at an even closer distance to the venue.

While the municipality has given the assurance that the fair can be organised again in 2017, at Wijkcentrum Dukenburg, they could not promise the same for 2018, as local government policy changes are foreseen in the coming year. If it's necessary though, Manuel fortunately has already found a nice alternative, but hopes he can simply keep organising the fair at Wijkcentrum Dukenburg.

He hopes to welcome you all at this new venue on Saturday 21th of January 2017, so write that date down in your agenda! As usual, all pertinent information and details, such as location and the booth registration that should appear two months before the event, can be found on the MSX Fair Nijmegen website.

Good, I plan to come with our newly designed hardware - Carnivore 2 cartridge and (if finished) a replica of SFG-05. Hope I don't forget my cables like last time... :-|

Nijmegen would be nice for camping in summertime, but in january?

I'd try trivago.nl. It's a handy booking site which compares all available prices.
You might need some dutch knowledge, but since you are german, I bet you'll come very far

Last year we stayed in the mercure hotel near by the train- station. Probably i will book it as well for this year

For the fullscreen map (please check, you might discover more options) you'd better use the map of Nijmegen city (as going fs from the former link, the map will inconveniently zoom out on the whole of NL.) Please note that the from prices shown on the (fullscreen) map seem to be for 2p.

I guess at most b&b's you might be able to rent/borrow a bike. You could also check if public traffic is leaving nearby to get to/from the fair: http://9292.nl/en/plan/arrival/2016-12-03T0945?toRef=nijmege... (can't pick the actual Saturday in 2017 yet).

From quite some b&b's (including the most affordable one listed) you could manage by foot as well I reckon :)

That Chinese restaurant visited in previous years will be financially ruined!
