with the addition of the above adapter, and a lead with a 3.5mm plug on each end, we can have a CF unit?

Yes. The white connector on the left side of the cartridge is there exactly to provide power for those kind of CF adapters.

The IDEA-MAPPER provides the power that the adaptor needs! You can use one of this adapter and a CF unit. No problem. Actually, the most of users use this way!

In fact, the IDE-MAPPER provides the power needed! Is is not necessary to use any kind of external power supply!

Best Regards!

After read the message, I think that wasn't really clear, I´m sorry!

The power necessary to use this adaptor is provided by one of the 40 pins of IDE connector. It is not necessary to use the 4 pins power supply. This is used for real IDE-HD or CD-ROM.

Too bad there's no single best solution for the mass storage problem. This one has a nice mapper, but MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD supports memory cards out of the box and has that SCC... Probably better get all of them just in case Cool

I'm working on a new MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD version with 512K/1024K RAM. Perhaps in a few months it will be ready.
