Let's review the latest updates of this multiplatform MSX emulator. Now the Windows, Linux and Android releases reach the 5.3 version:

Windows & Linux

fMSX 5.3

  • Added remaining time display during replay.
  • Stopping replay when emulation reset or state loaded.
  • Fixed replay rollover mechanism.
  • Added shadow underneath the time display.
  • Compiled fMSX-Unix with -Wall and eliminated warnings.
  • Replaced -DNO_WAVE_INTERPOLATION with -DWAVE_INTERPOLATION, off by default.
  • Removed old LoadSTA() and SaveSTA() code.
  • Finally deprecated -DNEW_STATES.

fMSX 5.2

  • Fixed DirectInput joysticks support in Speccy-Windows.
  • Made directional pads work on XBox gamepads.

fMSX 5.1

  • Added multiple monitor support to fMSX-Windows.
  • Fixed disappearing window in fMSX-Windows.
  • Fixed best full-screen mode detection in fMSX-Windows.
  • Fixed window flicker that appeared after recent Win10 updates.
  • Moved disk and cartridge options to "Hardware" menu in fMSX-Windows.
  • Switched fMSX-Linux to using PulseAudio sound.
  • Updated old PulseAudio driver for 64bit Linux.

Android

fMSX 5.3

  • Released free fMSX 5.3 for Windows and Linux.
  • Made sure first player always gets stock gamepad on Nvidia ShieldTV.
  • Either player can open menu or exit emulation now.
  • Compiled with -Wall and eliminated warnings.
  • Replaced -DNO_WAVE_INTERPOLATION with -DWAVE_INTERPOLATION, off by default.
  • Removed old LoadSTA() and SaveSTA() code.
  • Finally deprecated -DNEW_STATES.

btw, just if anyone is interested. I just tried and it compiles and works in Mac out of the box as well. Just install the "impulseaudio" package using macports, add the include and library folders of impulseaudio and of X11 (opt/local/include and opt/X11 in my case) to the makefile, type "make", and there you go! Smile

I was wondering, how Netplay is supposed to work with fMSX? I went to the fmsx page, but I saw no documentation about it. Anyone knows how it works?

It seems that fms (or anyone that cares) doesn't read this thread. That's too bad, I really enjoyed fMSX in the past, it brings so many good memories.
