Rafael Jannone has released an online Screen converter for MSX which can convert JPG, PNG and GIF files from up to 400kb to SCREEN 2, 5 and 8. The result is a VRAM dump, BLOADable bitmap image and BASIC loader. You can use several filters to improve output. For SCREEN 2 it's also possible to generate tiles.

The guy who released this was Rafael Jannone - just look at the URL and you know to whom it belongs... "http://msx.jannone.org/conv/"

And the latest post from him on MSXBR-L on Jan 13th:

"Algumas melhorias na interface, um pouco mais intuitivo:
http://msx.jannone.org/conv/
[]s!
PS: vou sair de férias amanhã :)"

(Some improvements on the interface,a little more intuitive: URL ... PS: I'm out on vacations tomorrow)

fixed the post... as the converter wasn't listed on Jannone's page I reckoned he might only host this one... thx for mentioning!

Nice... Maybe possibility to include pallette to VRAM dump in SCREEN 5 would be good option...

Seems to have a weird behaviour when tiling; using a 256x224 screen it creates a map that shows some kind of row offset and garbage. If you don't check the tiles generation it renders fine the same picture Question
