Hi guys
Maybe I’m doing something wrong here.
I just updated my GR8NET to the last firmware (v.0.12 2021/11/29)

I can see in the boot that the time is correctly received from NTP server.
But when I boot to Nextor, it goes back to the wrong time.

Take a look:
I synced the NTP, but when I go back to NEXTOR, it's the wrong time.
Any comment will be appreciated.

the time looks good if you also consider that MSX doesn't have timezone support while GR8NET mostly likely will write an UTC time to MSX itself (so adding 7 hours since your TZ is UTC -07) which is then shown by MSX

After the firmware update the settings are restored back to factory settings. So what you see is the current date/time from your NTP which is then converted using the factory timezone settings in your GR8NET to the UTC timezone. To change your timezone do a "call netcfg" from basic and follow the flow of menus and instructions and set the proper timezone.

Next time before updating do a "call netvarexprt" for exporting your settings and then after updating a "call netvarimprt" this restores your settings.

Hi Raymond / Pencioner
In the picture above, I already configured the correct time zone with CALL NETCFG.
As you can see, after running the NETTSYNC, it corretcly shows the time with the correct timezone. (UTC-7).

But when I go to nextor, it goes to UTC+0.

In my understanding, the whole purpose of NTP is to set correctly the timezone in the MSX. (That's why we define our own timezone).

Also, I don't remember to have this behavior previously... The time was always correct.

Perhaps you have found a bug Smile Contact Eugeny and ask him. I tried to reproduce it on mine, and I got an error when using the "call nettsync" command.

Thanks for the update. I was about to ask if any of you could try that.
Thanks Raymond.

This is something I found in the manual: (When GR8NET updates the clock, a CHECK is displayed).

In my case, this check is not there:

Another example in BASIC that shows the clock not being updated:

SOLVED:

I chose my TIMEZONE flag to 100. (128 - 4*7).
So this way, the bit 7 was down. :-D

When I updated the flag to 228. (128 + 128 - 4*7 ) it worked.... SORRY !!! Bad math!

No problem. Glad you have found the solution!
