MSXdev'18 #11 - Barbarian The Duel

As previously announced, this entry for the MSX freestyle category is finally here. Accept the challenge to a gory duel against your opponent and try to survive!

This game works only on MSX2 and higher and features MSX-Music sound. On top of that, if you have an OPL4 cartridge you can even hear voice samples during the game.

Please remember that this game participates in this contest just for fun, meaning that the authors decline any prize in case they win one of them.

What a amazing work!
It's funny when that little animal drags the loser off the track. Great! Balanced gameplay. I'm hoping for a release as a cartridge.

Played the game several times now and it realy brings back the old memories. And I could not remember the game being this challenging Again, great work guys. What is next, maybe a port of amiga's savage, turrican or panza kickboxing?

Cool! Palace Software's Barbarian is a classic and I love seeing it cloned for the MSX2. This game is very fast-paced compared to the original, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I did find rolling to be a bit too fast and unnatural looking. All in all, great job!

If you want the slow paced original speed (easy skill mode), you may boot the game pressing F1 (please take a look at the game manual).
