I really don't see the use of another forum at all. I mean, I can say whatever the hell I want here, I can tell people what I think, I can freely disagree with whatever I want and say that. So what's the general problem anyway? If your messages get edited or removed I guess you are just uncapable of ventilating your thoughts and opinions in a grown-up fashionable way. ie: without shouting, ranting, calling names and such, and with arguments and explenations. In which case I suggest you refrain from any form of adult communication anyway.

I kinda have to agree with Senior Rudi .. If you stick to simple netiquete.. then there's no problem using MRC for anyone..

I don't see any problem with having more then one active forum for MSX, but... for a newcomer to become more or less an active forum, it will have to be able to offer something more/new compared to MRC.
But anyway, everyone deserves to right to give it a try. A little competition can be quite healthy, as long as it stays fair...

03-09-2004, 11:53 was my favorite site, but since dicussions with Patriek, thinking you guys can stand above everyone, the respect from me for this site has fallen. Have also respect for other msx users and forums and give them a change/opportunity the track msx users...
At my work some people recognised this marv.. computer and they also might come with me to Bussum, to see what happended the last few years...

Koetje: was there really a need to bring up this discussion again? I thought it had (finally) ended.

As far as those discussions were concerned: As far as I know it was about you taking an existing song, changing some intruments and crediting it as your own. You think it's weird then that people comment about that, and not in a positive way?

Don't go play the poor victim now. And certainly don't go blaming all on Patriek, as seems to be the trend lately. Yuch.

Anyways, I hope this is the end of this thread. Personally, I think it should be locked as discussion has died out a long time already (*ahem* a week ^_^) and I don't see a need for it to go on.

That's what you get from trying to help people... a stab in the back.

Well, looks like everyone is back to mother MRC Smile is a nice forum, but it's not very active, plus there is nothing much other then the forum itself

snout, if you can implement a feature, where users can create an ignore list (for instance I want to ignore all GuyveR800 messages so I don't offend him by my rude un-Dutch answers Smile) it will greatly pacify forums and make them much more attractive

You see.. it's not exactly easy to run a site / gather content / gather activity ..

Well, it's not "hard" as in "complex". It is "hard" as in "dedicated". Admins on lack dedication, and it's understandable. Real Life (tm). We are all subjects to it's harsh rythm. So Snout is a sort of hero, who spends a lot of time coming up with design, support, news and new development.

I still don't like the moderating practices, but I guess I can live up with them. And the "Ignore" feature would make it very easy on my mental health Smile

which moderation? Unless I forgot something, I only saw harsh&offensive language being moderated .. nothing wrong with that, no?
