JohnH: that sounds logical to me, yes.
Well, I'll point norakomi towards this topic once more, so he can consider things.
It will require to hack the replayer of course.
Isn't msd like, both the Keymaster and Gatekeeper of that?
I've seen hacked replayers before. Bombaman springs to mind, Arjan did quite some optimizations and throwing out of stuff we didn't need, as I recall.
Check it out here: http://www.teambomba.net/bombaman/download7e15.html
Apparently it uses 20% cpu for 16 wave channels. I seem to recall the original replayer was twice that.
It has come to my attention that SF2 is using my Guyver5 music/fx player without permission.
Of course I'm open to licensing out Guyver5 for SF2, but I object to its illegal use.
As for playing the music on a MoonSound, a MoonSound is capable of producing all sounds that MSX-MUSIC (FM-PAC) can. For example, MoonSound Music Studio emulates the MSX-MUSIC perfectly when importing eg. MB-STEREO music.
So users could be provided with the exact same music experience as FM-PAC on their MoonSound.
tsja, that sucks =/
Can't you email him about it and make a friendly agreement? After all, he's still a TNI member (on http://www.tni.nl/info.html )
music: I'd love it if it was authentic to the original SF2: YM2151 on MSX's MoonSound FM, and the drums and voices (some OKI sample chip) on the wave channels. =)
Hey, is it spelled "Moonsound" or "MoonSound"? Let's set the record straight on this.
(idea for a new poll?)
We haven't seen him for over a year and he hasn't shown any interest in developing TNI projects in the past. Frankly, we don't know why he's on the member list.
As for music authenticity, in that case it should support the Yamaha SFG modules (as built into eg. CX5M). The sound could be 100% authentic that way. I suppose the YM2151 is Z80-controlled? It opens opportunities.
Also, is there any way we can hear an example/demonstration of how MoonSound Music Studio emulates MSX-Music? Sounds interesting enough.
