From the video description:

引用:

2048k ROM, FMPac for music, Samples and FX for Moonsound. This beta is awesome, I worked on the initial logo animation. This game works on a standard MSX2. The game needs more fighting AI and more characters. 30fps of pure awesomeness. Screen5 mode, much better than the Atari ST and Amiga versions.

why not than use the opl4 fm for music.. otherwise you will need to have a mixer to put the sounds for the opl4 and the msx-music together.

As far as I know, the musics of this port are actually MIDI files, played by a piece of assembly that executes the data on MSX-Music (although using only one drum channel at a time).

What a strange idea ! In stead of using directly MBM or MWM files !!! Hannibal

Btw, MSX-AUDIO supports samples and is completely ignored by the coders.

Well, a big advantage of this is that no-one has to go through the hassle of arranging all that stuff. Wink Since the MIDI files are available everywhere.

Regarding the samples, you can fit a lot more into the Moonsound RAM. Unless you got a huge expansion on your Music Module (which I think is usually not the case). And much better quality, ofcourse.

Modifying the replayed for opl3 fm schould not be to much work

That's true, but I suppose in that case you'll need to sacrifice a chunk of sample RAM in order to have percussion (still using the sample-based synthesis component).
And I guess the original OPLL version would have to be maintained as well, to ensure that people who own an FM-PAC but not a Moonsound can still have music.

EDIT: I forgot that the Moonsound ROM has a General MIDI percussion kit aboard. But it still implies that the replayer would have to address the FM and 'wave' components simultaneously. And to be honest, I have no clue how hard (or easy) that would be in practice. Smile What are your thoughts on this?

Let's say that MoonSound replayers are a lot more CPU hungry than stuff with less channels...

So, I think it's a wise choice!

Would it perhaps be less CPU slurping if you'd still only use 6 FM channels + 1 wave channel and permanently disable the rest (meaning: modify the replayer so that it not even bothers with the unused channels)?
