Thanks for the congrats!
And thanks for the suggestions, of course ... don't be shy, let's hear more of your choices.
Don't worry I'll let you know the final tracklist
Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake Night Fall is THE obvious lullaby song
I would say Hinotori end demo, and Firehawk game over - but those were already 'nominated'
But there are more: Elite title music and Antartic Adventure in-game music
Just heard YS1 intro. Perfect as well....
It's quite difficult. There are many beautiful songs which start as lullabies but end up as mega dramatic musical masterpieces. Certainly not suitable as lullabies....
Maybe first in game Illusion City BGM!
I also like this Dragon Slayer IV tune a lot. The one you hear when you climb that tree, right at the beginning...
Some psychology/whatever here...
Thinking about those games´ names and themes.... Sometime ago I saw and listened album named "ROCKABYE BABY! Lullaby renditions of the Ramones"....... there were no singing... just beautifully and slowly played, just like any other baby songs, but I was thinking original lyrics even they are not sung in that record:
Beat on the brat, beat on the brat, beat on the brat with a baseball bat. Oh yeah, oh yeah,uh-oh. Oh yeah, oh yeah, uh-oh.
What can you do? What can you do? With a brat like that always on your back. What can you lose?
I guess you got my point, maybe I am old-fashioned, but it just didn´t felt any good to think such song made for a baby lullaby song. I know, MSX songs doesn´t have any lyrics and I don´t really care that much about those MSX game tunes going to be lullaby songs, but I just wanted to give some thoughts about this.
Yeah, "Dragon Slayer" sounds like very good baby lullaby theme tune.... How about Vampire Killer too....?
Shame that games like "Halloween" didn´t got MSX conversion.... it has an atmospheric tune for a lullaby song...... (atari 2600)
Okay, this went "a bit" ironic now....
Now some suggestions without irony.
All Comic Bakery´s tunes.
The original Konami´s The Goonies first stage tune. (surely must be slowed down first)
A great site to look for MSX tunes is www.bgmsx.com. Apart from the tunes already mentioned here, I found much more candidates there :)
A few examples:
(Yeah, old topic (TS's daughter prolly too old for lullaby's in the meantime..) but nice to share ;))
