Hello.
I'm a MSX Player in South Korea.
This is MMC/SD Drive Ver.2.2 made by PCB panel, KONAMI SCC Rom cartridge.
It's very fit and compact.(looks so nice) Some foreign MSX Players who bought
MMC/SD Drive are satisfying that so much.

I'd like to enjoy it with many MSX Players.

Has any one done a speed comparison between this and the CF? I doubt it will make little difference on the MSX though

schematics can be found on HansO website. This is the MMC interface from sharksym. Also these PCBs are not manufactured any more according to the website the pictures are linked from.
I have V1.0 working and this whole MMC/SD drive works much better then the CF interface as it emulates floppies. No need for programs to run a floppy it is just supported by the diskrom of this interface.

MMC/SD drive ver 1.0 was way slow even though it was much faster than real disk drive.
Now, transfer rate of MMC/SD drive ver 2.2 dramatically improved.
It is almost same as CF IDE from Sunrise
and you know this incredible machine can play almost every games released
including XAK 1, Thexder 2 - Fire Hawk, Illusion city with MIDI support,
Xak - tower of gazzel, Metal gear disk version with SCC SOUND, MID GARTS MSX2+ version,
Fray MSX2/Turbo-R, Seed of Dragon, RANMA 1/2 - these games have some problem with
FD emulation of CF IDE from Sunrise. FDD emulation is awesome!!
You can also access gigabytes of disk space by simply uploading FAT16 device driver. (this driver needs
DOS2 environment )
That means you can carry whole set of MSX *.roms and *.dsks with 2 or 3 pieces of SD card.
Without the help of PC, you can freely fransfer files between those HDD-like SD cards and FD emulated disk.
LOL!LOL!LOL!LOL!

145kB/s? That's not very fast. My SCSI interface gets about 400kB/s on a turboR....

Interesting. So this is some sort of alternative DIY to the Sunrise cart?

MMC Drive 2.0 is a DIY MSX tool. I think this is better than Sunrise CF because it is easy to play and operate almost released MSX Games.
