Dudes, don't tell me nobody of you can speak HTML.
Find the problem, suggest snout the solution, discuss it if you feel so.
We are the community, right ?

Workaround hack: Add a style to the tables that are messed up (the rows with two items):

snip:

<table style="table-layout:fixed">

This is a really ugly hack, but may solve the problem for the time being.

Off now Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

btw. add the same style to the main table to undo the shifting of the complete page.

I narrowed the page code to the following snippet that generates shifted message on FF3 and looks OK on other browsers:

<table width='100%' bgcolor='#10709F' >
   <colgroup width='155' span='2'><col width='150'><col width='5'></colgroup>
   <colgroup><col></colgroup>
   <colgroup><col width='5'></colgroup>
   <tr>
	<td bgcolor='#084E74'>
	<td>
	<td align='center'>
	     <TABLE WIDTH="100%" >
	         <TR><TD colspan="2">TEST MESSAGE
	     </TABLE>
</table>

Any suggestions ?

cax: see my earlier replies Smile

<table width='100%' bgcolor='#10709F' >

should be

<table style="table-layout: fixed; width: 100%; background-color: #10709f">

Edit!!! To be more precise, I didn't notice it was your own code, cax, for MRC: the line

<table width='100%' align='center' border='0' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0'>

should be

<table style="table-layout: fixed; width: 100%; text-align: center; border: 0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

btw. HTML 4.01 transitional is pretty 1995 Smile

Now I got it.

d-fader, mixing style="table-layout: fixed" with the rest of attributes works just fine too, so no need to rewrite them as style commands.
Injecting style="table-layout: fixed" is enough.

Snout ?

cax: that is correct. But I think it's better do change all, then the site will be less 1995 (although it's only a fraction of a percent Smile)

Just remove the width and span atrributes from the colgroup, that'll fix the problem.

Arjan: Not entirely, since then FF'll calculate how much space is needed for both items, resulting in both items not being 50% (you can see it by increasing your screen width).

thx for the hints lads, MRC appears to be a tad more FF3 proof. As for the 1995-ness of HTML4.01... that kinda suits the 1983-ness of the MSX computer, no? More spiff MRC to be unleashed later this year. Probably Wink
