Hi wbahnassi, the possibility exists, but I would need to check with the company if they are willing to do another computer (I think so). However, for small numbers it is not probably worth it. I managed to get 30 units for the relatively low price of 30 EUR/unit for the HB-10/20, which is a relatively common and there is some demand for new mebranes. Even with these common computers I have some 10 units unassigned, so I'm not going to do another model's membrane as I'm dealing with the risk and financials myself. MSX is an outstsanding system, but as there are so many brands and models, building spares today is rather expensive as it is difficult to get quantities. I'd love to help but probably in the future.
Hi!
Sorry for the delay in posting last week update.
Last week I spoke to Cao Ingtec (the company who is replicating the membranes) and they told me that the design was becoming more complex that initially expected, that before Christmas looked fairly easy but due to that they need two more weeks yet. I'll keep asking them, I expect they manage to finish the design and send me the samples soon.
Thanks for your patience.
No problem vsellares. Wish you the best with the current order. Somehow I feel this could even be done by hand. Draw the traces using thick conductive ink pen on transparent sheets. Hmmm...
Hi! Let me share an updatde. Today I spoke to Cao Ingtec and they have finished the drawings. They are going to print the samples and we are looking forward to test.
You can find the screenshot they've sent me in va-de-retro post
I hope from now on the thing speeds up!
Hi!
Last week I contacted Cao Ingtech but I get no answer, so yesterday I pinged them again and finally they answered me.
They are testing their initial samples but it seems they are not working very well yet and they need to do some adjustments to the design.
I'll keep you informed.
Hello everyone,
I'm bound to apologise. I've been a handful of weeks out, two weeks in bed and this week in a training.
The initial forecast for the membranes was to be ready after Christmas. Even that, I anticipated some delay on this forecast.
Just today I sent a message to the company asking for the membranes' status. As soon as they answer I'll come back to you.
I'd like to highlight that I'v just put the money you sent aside so if needed to return it that wouldn't be a problem. I also keep Whatsapp conversations in which I can show I'v been roughly contacting them quarterly to ask for an status update.
I've put a lot of hope in this membrane reproduction... I hope that delays are because a good reason and the expected quality justify al these delays.
I'd like also to bring to your attention that they promised to send samples before printing the final batch, so I can test them throughly (I have 3 HB-20p units to test) and obviously I would share with you any eventuality I could find.
If you have any doubt, please feel free to send me an email at the address I shared in the payment message or send me an MP. I'll be more than happy to answer you.
Again, my apologies for all these delays and thank you very much for the patience shown.
Hello everyone again,
Today (18/04/2023) I've spoken with Cao Ingtec and they have updated me about the membranes.
They have been pretty busy with the details of our membranes as they have told me that it has been quite difficult to get them properly drawn and printed.
One sample has been printed and looks quite ok. They will print over it a coat of dielectric material and that will be sent to me to test in my HB-20's this week or next week.
I will update as soon as I have received it and when I start testing. I expect, as per conversation with them, that some adjustments need to be done and it is still possible that the membranes can't be produced but I don't want to anticipate any event yet. Let's receive it and check. I've posted a photo in va-de-retro.com for you to check the progress.
I'll keep you posted.
