Hello just recently aquired a sbb cartridge and it don't work on my sx1 zemmix clone. The result is the same i get when trying to run the demo in dsk on openmsx(in bluemsx the demo works ok). Is known this compatibility problem and is planned an upgrade to the fpga core solving it?.

If I remember correctly, the screen flickers like crazy, making the game more or less unplayable.
You can try it yourself as well, also the demo version has this problem.

I have seen something like that in openMSX, but I have always thought it was a bug in openMSX, so I am surprised to see it now also occurs on the SX-1. If the SX-1 developers find the cause, I'm very interested to know more about it!

It seems to depend on the set adjust offset. See https://github.com/openMSX/openMSX/issues/471

If you look carefully, you see I reported it in 2004. But it was never solved, obviously. These things are not easy to debug.

Tested on SX-2.
It freezes on the title screen.

Sounds like the same bug SBB had on WebMSX, which got solved in WebMSX 5.3. Maybe a solution can be found there.

Like journey says, it start the first screen, but then freezes. If it reach the game screen, flickers a lot like tfh said.

HRA! is working on some quite in-depth 1chipMSX VDP improvements lately. It’s interesting to follow his progress on Twitter, he’s posting almost daily lately, though in Japanese so use the translate function :), and his posts are quite technical in nature. He’s reworking a large part of the timing with a great attention to detail, it looks very promising. Once he gets a release out (could take a while), if Sex Bomb Bunny is still not working I’m sure he’ll find it an interesting test case to look at.

HRA! is working on the core for the SX|2 with larger Cyclone IV FPGA, but I’m reasonably confident those improvements can be still be backported by KdL to the original OCM core for the Cyclone I.

I agree, because some parts are really rewriten, so no aditional space is required and it fits in our olds OCM / Zemmix. In fact the next firmware 3.9 includes some VDP fixes.
