It's a Dutch auction, the price drops every now and then. But if I remember correctly, they started at 5000, so that's 10 euros off per week?

@mars2000you: a dutch auction means one where the prices go down until someone buys it. It is not related to where the auction is held.

Okay, but back to my question. Does anyone know of the excistance of a beta version of salamander? Or is it the full game in a cart witha different label? I know there are beta of metal gear and quarth which are a looping demo real, non playable. And the beta of nemesis 2 with 2 completly different levels and slightly different intro demo. So how about salamander.

TheKid , this salamander cart is a normal salamander with different label ,

Some copies of salamander in Japan included this sticker inside, surely to put the game in a store to promote its sale, but as I said, the game is the same as any other salamander, there is no variation. Wink Wink

I didn't know about a beta version of salamander. But it is highly likely that many games could have had shop demos/ display demos. The nemesis 2 with extra levels probably is a true beta (in intro demo the 2 extra levels are also plotted as extra planets on the map).Metal gear and quarth probably are probably more like a display demo for in shops. I think salamander could be either of those two types (or even just a different label).

But it is not unthinkable that there exist betas that have completely different content. Judging from pictures in (p)reviews in magazines, catalogues and such games like Hinotori had completely different levels, King's Valley 2 had different puzzels from the end version, King's Valley 1 had different levels and enemies, Usas had different character selects + different mechanics, metal gear 1 originally was ment to have small cut scenes, maze of galious was ment to have 11 worlds, sd snatcher with a different display of your weapons etc etc.

Also the way Konami at one point worked was to have a team work at a game and then at a certain point (like a month before) have another team come in and give feedback and make suggestions to make the games even better. That way of working might cause some changes to games in a late beta stage.

@knm1983: Thanx for clearing this up. If it ain't a different version, I'll save my 4800 euros for something else Smile Smile Smile

@Randam:Yeah, I noticed that pictures form magazine may differ from the final versions.
