So, in the end, this one becomes a game for R800 and g9k.^_^

Not if I can help it.
I do have a soft spot for the MSX2 and I want to be able to squeeze that game out of it.

That's the challenge and one of the reasons we are still here in XXI century IMHO. Wink

If a decent adaptation for MSX2 of Out Run sees the light of day that would be totally awesome! Other miracles have been made, remember Street Fighter II for MSX2 (a.k.a. Pointless Fighting) Smile

All the known bugs have been fixed.
I have changed the parameters of the road so the proportions on screen look like Outrun.

The next step is to add sprites and figure their on-screen management.

Can't your engine skip frames?

Yes it can ... in a way. A full frame engine would generate 1 frame for each increase of the value on the z-axis. In my engine, the framerate is fixed, and the speed of the car is in fact the number of frames to skip. I suppose the limit of that model will be reached either if the rendering at high speed does not look right, or if the fixed framerate drops too low.

LOL! LOL! LOL!

Allright, allright. Here it is.
The car sprite is there only to check the proportions and have a general feeling about the WIP.

PS : I think the lateral strips might be a little bit too wide ... And the proportions are not right yet. I've checked against an Outrun screenshot, and the vanishing points do not match, resulting in a larger road at the drawing horizon on my version.

Cool, but let we feel some speed. Use the frameskipping...
