It's been a long time (at least 2 years) since I wanted to create a new MultiMente archive with documentation in multiple languages. MM is a very good freeware but I noticed that there are many versions modified by third parties with more or less successful.

I open this thread because I need your help. The goal is to see more clearly and gather the best versions with FAT16 support. I also intend to correct the documentation in French and English that I found, as well as the texts displayed in MM (please help me). I am also looking for doc in Spanish and Dutch.

Another thing, I found a version of MM in Japanese specific for OCM. It says "does not work on turbo R" in the readme. Does anyone know why ? Does this version exist in English?

Currently I have a English version FAT16 compatible that I successfully test on my Turbo R for a few months . I have corrected several texts and the documentation in French is almost finished. I found several character sets. With a little help, I think to put online a nice version with the doc in 3, 4 or 5 languages around Christmas or early next year.

Would be useful for sorting and saving FAT16 directories? Nice New Year gift Wink

Yes but only sort works in FAT16 with this version. The writing is ignored if FAT16. It only works in FAT12.

I am also looking for VIEW.COM. Does anyone have it?

GDX: is there any documentation in the Japanese version that supposedly is only for OCM. Do you have a bundle of MultiMente versions to look at/ compare what is missing in newest versions?

Here is a temporary link to download this version:

Documentation is same as original. Only this readme has been added.

Are you looking for a complete/good/FAT16 version of just Multi Mente or for a great Multi Mente experience in total?
In the 90s the biggest (only one left) Dutch MSX Magazine was particularly interested in Multi Mente and wrote several courses about it and released quite some compilations of add-ons (known stuff usable from DOS prompt in general).
Me and some other Dutchies could dig up that archive and add it, if that's your (secondary) goal.

The one released by Manuel Pazos' MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD is/was already a very good starting point for me as it works on turbo R. But it can always be improved to work even better.

To make a version with full support FAT16, only the sort command is missing and a way must be found to exceed the limit of 255 files. I do not know if that's possible.

At first, I just want to correct the errors that are numerous in the documentation as well as some others in the application using the best version found with FAT16 support. I am trying to simplify the use of MultiMente. After I had not touched the MSX for a long time it was laborious to remake me a configuration customised that works well.

I found several versions but only one works really well on my MSX. I think I tryed the version released for MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD but there were a few problems and things are missing.

I will release a beta version as soon as possible. I need confirmations before definitively put it online. The more feedback I get, the more interesting the content will be.

Hi gdx, I use this version: http://gnogni.altervista.org/ocm/misc/mm_ianna.zip
I don't remember what fixes are applied, it's been too long.

The japanese version for OCM you linked to supposedly only differs in the MM.com file. When I look in the file I see a few paths like
H:\MMTREE.DIR and H:\

And I see an error message stating that MultiMente can't find the file with partition information. My educated guess is that this version can be made to work on OCM and on msxes with a megascsi.

http://www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/utils/dos2/ contains some versions, including some Dutch stuff.
