We recently released a neat little adapter so you can play 3-button games like Pointless Fighting etc with a Megadrive gamepad. It works perfectly with a 6-button gamepad but has yet to be tested with a 3-button.

Yep this definitely adds to the game play on pointless fighting.

Just added another photo to the listing, showing the adapter in use.

Anyone have any info on up-and-coming 3-button games?

Pointless fighting uses 4 buttons though not 3

I am most definitely going to make a game that will support all 8 buttons of the Sega Megadrive's 6 button joypad, but I have a trackrecord of slowness and vaporwareism Cool

(and yes I am aware that the chinese clones from aliexpress etc dont have a Mode button so I will have to take that into account, since I bet most MSX users will be using those pads)

Btw grauw, if you need you can use the joystick tester from FRS, afaik the only tool/software on msx that actually supports all 8 buttons http://frs.badcoffee.info/tools.html

Be sure to give a try at SofaRun if you have a JoyMega: SofaRun v2.3 - ZIP file, Keyboardless & Game Master 2 Metal Gear play. JoyMega specific stuff starts around 2:30 (I tried to make a YouTube "frame-link" but this does not seem to work on MRC??).
You can map each JoyMega button to an MSX keyboard key, quite useful for Metal Gear & Maze of Galious (mapping Start to [F1] is also quite usefull).

Good news, in addition to SNES controllers, RetroBit announced that they were also going to make Sega controllers. I’m looking forward to using a wireless Sega controller on my MSX!

Huh? They've been making megadrive and saturn controllers for ages? Or does this really mean their quality will be better now?
(I know their existing saturn pads are not that great, not sure about their megadrive ones).

Would be nice to see good USB saturn pad clones again, last decent ones that I know of stopped selling many years ago and now go for 70-100 USD on ebay.

I think it's going to be the opposite. We will be able to use wireless controllers on the Sega consoles as is already the case for the SNES with the 8bitdo retro receiver. Thus this futur adapter will allow us to use wireless controllers on MSX thanks to the JoyMega as it is already the case with the JoySNES.
