Hey guys,

I just joined the forum yesterday, my name is Mounty, I'm a hardware developer from the UK and I have developed some nice stuff for the Amiga and Atari ST. You can see some of it on my website www.kmtech.co.uk.

Quick question for you, does anyone know of a list of hardware that will work with the MSX mouse?

Cheers.

I guess Mounty is speaking about other computers, to which you can connect the MSX mouse as well Smile

I know it works with certain old Roland samplers.

Just one more question, if I had an MSX computer, what would be the easiest was to test if a mouse was working?

Is there a particular program on cassette?

Sorry for the noob questions but I'm completely new to the MSX platform.

Connect mouse to port 1, start the computer, wait for blue screen, start typing:

10 print pad(12);pad(13);pad(14);strig(1);strig(3)
20 goto 10

This should show x and y axis, and if mousebuttons are pressed...

Only MSX2. If you want to use an MSX1 computer, take a look at http://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/development/mouse-msx1

For MSX1, you can use the following programs:

  • Cheese
  • Eddy 2
  • MUE Music Editor
  • Synthe Saurus 1.1

For MSX2 there are many. Those are some of them:

  • Graph Saurus v2.0
  • Synth Saurus
  • Philips Video Graphics
  • Philips Designer
  • Yamaha Painter

BTW, would you mind to tell us why are you asking this? Smile
