Hello,

Is there anybody out there who can make/flash/burn a NMS 8250 rom or bios with a vdp(10)=0 instruction on startup?
If yes, I would really, really like to buy one (or two ;-) because I'm getting sick of changing the frequency with the well-known code...

One possibility is also put that switching code to cartridge. That way you anyway lose one of the cardridge ports...

Well, it would be a pity to include it on each and every disk. True, the autoexec.bat of my HDD runs a program 60hz.com, but you know, it's a HDD (well, running on a turbo R, so it's not even necessary Tongue, ah, I had a NMS8255 before and I'm just too lazy to delete it Wink). In any case, I can imagine Avkooi wants something like this.

The only reason I don't play my original Konami's is because they all boot in 50 hz....

It would be great if the European MSX machines would boot in 60 hz mode so original cartridges could be played without slow music and slower gameplay...

Yes evulopah,

That is exact the same reason I want my precious MSX to boot at 60Hz all the time ;-)

And thank you, jpgrobler, I will find out what kind of ROM I need and mail it!

Or a slot expander:

  • switch off the rom
  • boot the system
  • wait for it to boot to BASIC
  • switch on the rom
  • type VDP(10)=VDP(10) AND 253
  • type DEF USR=&H7C75:A=USR(0)
  • pray the game doesn't init the diskdrive interface a second time before it boots

Perhaps you could create a cool 'NTSC/PAL' switcher with flashROM? Just put your NTSC/PAL switching utility on flash in SLOT1 and the game you actually want to play in SLOT 2....
