There we are! Round 3 in our quest for the most essential MSX event. From the 78 nominees that battled each other in different pairs in round 1 and 2, 52 (66%) moved on to this round. From now on, each round only 50% will make it to the next round... just like in the old megapolling system, but linking 'strong' to 'weak' nominees in pairs this time.

So, what's there to vote about? We're on a quest to find out which event the visitors of MRC think is the most essential MSX event that took place between 1985 and 2005.

Right here you can find a list of all nominees that are still in the competition with the reasons why they were nominated. To make it even easier for you, the nominees are listed in the order of the votesheet below. Please read it first, carefully, and don't hesitate too look back at this list later on. Got it? Great!

Below is a list of 26 pairs. Your job is to divide three points between each pair. So with the pair

option A | option B

the following scores are valid:

3 - 0 ;option A | option B
2 - 1 ;option A | option B
1 - 2 ;option A | option B
0 - 3 ;option A | option B

It is NOT permitted to give halve points [yup, only positive integer are allowed!], the total points divided each pair HAS to be 3 points. You will have to make this decision each pair, until you completed the entire list. Mixing pairs with others is not allowed. Only completely valid submissions will be counted.

So all you have to do to vote is join the MRC, log in and fill in the votesheet below. This second round closes at September 29th, 23:59 CET. Happy voting!

But I have a big question for you, guys: I have just added the different scores from ROUND 2 and the pair openMSX vs Karoshi was drawn with 39 points each if I am not wrong (I used EXCEL, so may be it's Bill who is wrong Wink ). What is the criteria for deciding then? Because both have the same votes, I mean, the same amount of 3s, 2s, 1s and 0s.

Would you mind to detail a bit more the rules? Perhaps a vote has been canceled due to processing problems. Please, understand me well: this is not a complain. I'm just curious about the decision system.

Thanks!

pitpan: Round 1 and 2 combined decide which ones were moving on to round 3. It goes to show that there's still some unfairness in this system (but a lot less than there used to be). Karoshi had the bad luck to meet the strong 'release of MSX2' in round 1, and to respectully draw in the second round. It just missed the 66% boat to move to the third round...

Thanks, snout. Now it is perfectly clear!

I must agree: the votation system is now much better and more polished than in the early votations!

And again I have to say that at Karoshi we are MSX1 guys! Wink
