Why do you have to leave the emulator?? Just pause emulation, capture the window and you're done. You can save the file while the emulator is running and then unpause it.

I think everyone sees the benefit of pressing ONE button compared to pausing, capturing, saving and unpausing Smile

Benoit, when you say "music saving feature", do you mean the sample or the notes? In other words, would you want something like a WAV file of the sound output, or something like a MIDI file containing the notes played? The former is relatively easy to implement, the latter is a lot more work.

I prefer the WAV format for saving the music. I know that some emulators convert the MSX music to MIDI sounds, but the result is very discutable (especially in fMSX-Windows 2.6 - the modulable approach of fMSXSO is better, but I've noticed that the author has also implemented OPL3 and EMU2413 emulation). I think also that the WAV format is more in the MSX spirit, because the base of PSG - SCC - MSX-MUSIC .... are waves ! Big smile

...small waves played in notes (MIDI/wavetable) Tongue

Exporting to WAV would be sufficiant, exporting to MIDI would be cool.

Finally an advanced multi-platform (Window, MacOS and Linux/BSD) launcher for openMSX to replace the too disappointing Catapult ! It has been created in Java language by our friend Sam Elsharif and is based on his impressive work for the blueMSX Launcher.

Features of this first version :
- creation of multiple databases of all MSX software supported by openMSX.
- scanning of the hard disk to automatically fill launcher databases with ROMs, disks, tapes, hard disks and laserdiscs, and sync the databases to your hard disk any time later
- display of two screenshots for each game
- display of the texts on the launcher using a high number of supported languages (English, Arabic, Catalan, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish)

For the screenshots, it’s recommended to download an extra file, also used by the blueMSX Launcher.
