For sale, a vg-8235 that was modded to use the revised (fast) diskdrom for double sided floppies so able to load any MSX disk that exist, and fast. And the diskdrive was replaced with a modern one that doesn't use the rubber belt, it will work forever.

But the best feature is the 7mhz switch, you can run software twice as fast. A for..next loop was even a bit over 50% faster in basic. The switch allows you to run software on the regular speed because the sound is distorted if it's at 7Mhz.

Also the back cartridge port has that slide them right in thing. The top cartridge slot door works perfect and you can adjust this keyboard perfectly, no cracks. I can't even find a scratch on the top of the machine. It could use a bit of a cleanup. And one would probably paint the floppy drive front black or 3d print a nice cover for the whole diskdrive.

This mrc topic has a fix for that but that's for the next owner to try out: https://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/hardware/7mhz-msx-upgrade...

Shipment to most of the EU is about 25 euro (DHL) outside probable double that. I can do the H2O2 treatment to the keyboard for an additional 50 euro (I use professional chemicals and a UV light making sure every key is unyellowed to the same color). No paste or crap, I take the whole keyboard out and seperate every key, put them to bath etc. lot's of work but well worth it.

For the MSX as is I ask 400 euro.

Is it a /00 or /20 version? And if it's a /00 version, is the memory bug fixed?

It's the 00 version.

What memory bug do you mean? There was a small pcb on top of some memory chips of which I thought it was a upgrade but the msx has no extra memory, I tried poke and peek with &hFE,0 and &hFE,8 and it shows page 8 is same as 0.

This is the memory bug and the solution.

Are you using a zilog clock generator Z0858110psc for the 7mhz?

PSG sound sounds higher and stuttering under 7mhz is that your answer?

Ofcourse if you know all this stuff you might want to buy a used one yourself from marktplaats.nl and improve it ;-)

No, I'm not asking it.

you can install the 7mhz kit in two ways.
a) using zilog clock generator
b) Super turbo

What do you use in your vg8235?

Hmm this msx looks familiar.
If it's the one I think it is, then yes it has the memory mapper bug fixed.
The 7mhz works with a zilog clock generator I think. It's one of the ones installed by Repair-Bas.

Probably not because the top of the was very much damaged and I have replaced it with a very good top. Huge part was black (paint worn off) from usage.
