Welcome to the forum BjoernLOL!

A MSX2 can be bought on ebay in germany (not that many), but the big plus for you will be the AZERTY board instead of the qwerty!

recommended models: from philips the 8245,8250,8255,8280 (I odnt know whether they are commom with azerty). the 8235 can be bought quit often but it has only a SingleSided diskdrive,

From Sony the hitbit 700 or 900 (these have azerty boards which is depicted by the added letter D)

look on the internet for more info.

If you are happy with QWERTY buy at the dutch ebay site or marktplaats.nl or contact bas kornalijnslijper for a upgraded msx2 (bigger memory LOL!, fast diskrom and other options)

good luck in finding one

Hey Bjoern, where in Germany do you live? I'm in Munich and could help you out rather quickly if you live around here.
If you're interested, mail me: eric @ {my MRC nick} . nl

(Nope, I don't plan on shipping any equipment, got some bad experiences with that)

I thought German keyboard layout is QWERTZ. AZERTY for the Frenchs and QWERTY for the rest of the known universe.

My first MSX computer, strangely enough, had (has) a QWERTZ keyboard. It's an old Sanyo MPC64.

About getting an MSX2, I'd say go for a raw Philips NMS8245. Cool machine and really tough.

8245 has a bad rep for its original diskdrive tho. A 8250, 8255 or 8280 model may in addition be more practical for internal updates/soldering.

Yep, the 8280 i bought where both with qwertz keyboards Wink, my Cx5M II has azerty (which is bad for german language) :-D
BTW: I also live in Nürnberg, but I am very seldom @ home due to work.

P.S.: if you like to own my second NMS8280 then mail me @ fusin@boogiedogs.org maybe we could make a deal ;)
