The code in openMSX svn can play Badlands now. It's still in alpha stage though, it needs a lot of work and it cannot play any other Laserdisc game.

CALL RLD gives a syntax error and the other commands didn't do much... (I could break them as if they are load commands indeed.)

Did you tried to start as P-Basic instead? And trying those commands not as CALL (or _ ), but as regular ones ?
