One regret for this new material: the contacts are not gilded. The MSX slots will have to endure it.

That's because it's internally expanded when you enable the memory (like the MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD), in that case you must put it in a primary slot. There is no other way to have both SD and RAM in the same cartridge, so it can't be changed. If you want to use those two remaining subslots, put it in SD-only mode and use a slotexpander and a separate RAM cartridge Smile.

Is this bad for the msx cartridge slot? I thought it was just bad for the cartridge itself (wearing out fasteR)?

The connector contacts of slot wear out faster because they glide least well. Moreover I've seen a connector pin twisted because the pin had sunk into tin. Maybe the layer was too thick. No problem for the cartridge.

This is not an opinion but a (bad) experience lived.

Note: I have all 8bits Products, I mean MSX products ... All perfect ... Specially ATA620 IDE.

Regards,

Sniper

I bought the 8bit ATA620 IDE cartridge and Im very happy with the quality. With a memory expansion I can use it even on my MSX1 machines. The only thing I miss is a printed manual, maybe a "fancier" package...
