I was checking the Super Cooks english translation by Django and I can't save the progress because it seems I don't have the proper datadisk... does anybody know how to do it??

I think it's the same problem that Golvellius 2 translation.

It's explained in the help file (in French)

Quote:

F1 pour sauvegarder (mais problème de chargement au début.  La solution est de commencer le jeu [NEW GAME], perdre [GAME OVER] et puis ensuite charger la sauvegarde [DISK LOAD CONTINUE]

F1 to save (but loading problem in the beginning). The solution is to begin the game [NEW GAME], lose [GAME OVER] and then load the saving [DISK LOAD CONTINUE]

Another Compile bug/feature ? Wink

Try the package on the Yahoo MSX-RB group. It includes the 2nd disk, required for the savings.

(available since 2004 !)

Thanks, I'll give it a try. It would be better if Django could include the dada disk too in the translation package

I remember that Super Cooks' datadisk was just an ordinary disk on which SC wrote/read some sectors.
Once in the 90s I completed the game and archived the save game with a save position just before the end. Archived as an XSA file. You could find it in our diskmagazine DISK 7.

Give it a spin. Maybe it helps you.

A few days ago a partner said to me exactly the same but with the translation to English of Golvellius 2, he could not save the game. I said to him that it should try with the version in Spanish and the same was happening to him. Possibly the save system has been damaged in the translation.

Was Super Cooks translated? I see no relation between Super Cooks and a Golvellius translation.

Super Cooks has been translated by Django, but Meits is right, many Super Cooks files on the net have a bad second disk, only the version that I've found somewhere and sent to Ricardo Bittencourt in 2004 is correct. So, the problem is not in the translation !
