The thing to keep in mind is that you have to arrange the 8KB pages in 16KB pages. For Vampire Killer, you indeed have 16 8KB pages, but you need to have all possible combinations of 8KB pages ready in 16KB pages : [0,0],[0,1],[0,2],[0,3],[0,4],[0,5],[0,6],[0,7],[0,8],[0,9],[0,10],[0,11],[0,12],[0,13],[0,14],[0,15],[1,0],[1,1],[1,2],[1,3].....[15,15]. You can see that this makes a total of 16x16=256 16KBpages = 4MB (you can't have a 16KB memory mapper with just one 8KB ROM page inside, there would be a "hole", the game can't work with that).

For Metal Gear 2, with 64 pages, you need 64*64=4096 16KB pages=64MB RAM oO!

Thanks GDX, the /Z option should be fixed (just re-download).

I had already re-download the last version. The option doesn't work for me.

Hi Gdx,
Check the usage, /Z0 keeps the default CPU mode (so /Z0 has no effect):

  /Zx: Set CPU mode (turboR only)
    0: No change (default)
    1: Z80 (ROM)
    2: R800 ROM
    3: R800 DRAM

Let me know if that works!

If /Z1, /Z2 or /Z3 have no effect, I'll need more details (turboR version (ST or GT), which MSX-DOS 2 version you use, the command line you type, the error message you get...).

Tried Herzog with SofaRunit, but sadly it freezes right on the game boot.

Tested on a Panasonic FS-A1WX expanded to 256KB of RAM internally.

Hi Snatcher,

Herzog works with SofaRunIt on my HB-F1XDJ with MFRSCC+SD 512MB, but the RAM is on the same slot as Nextor with this configuration. That looks like a "RAM slot issue", that's usually easy to patch.

Maybe if you have time, could you try to launch that game on a real disk / same configuration ? I guess you tried the "Simulate CTRL Key" and "No memory mapper support" options ? (I do not think these should change anything to the result).

Yes, I tried the following:

- Simulate CTRL key and "no memory mapper support" options
- With the SD-Mapper's own memory 512KB memory mapper either enabled or disabled

The Panasonic MSX2+ models are quite picky to run software. Recently I discovered that FireHawk HDD doesn't run properly on them. It does run fine on the emulated FS-A1WX machine on openMSX though.

Sofarunit doesn't work properly on my MSX turbo R when I insert a Memory Mapper cartridge. Works fine on emulator when I set same configuration. Same problem with Megamu.

After thinking this is probably a problem with some software only.
