Yeah, I had almost 1 week of fully-dedicated MSX coding vacations ! Lots of things I had in mind during the last months, but no time to work on them until now. And the MSX Quizz is almost a full-time job if you take it seriously Smile

Use local path for command line when possible, allowing MSX-DOS 1 programs to launch files.

I did not notice any change except for SG1000. Maybe it only works if you place the orders in the Sofarun folder? Anyway it is not practical as a solution.
You have created %f and %s for the selected file path and sofaRun directory path. I think the only reliable solution is to create another for the selected file and maybe another for the default.

Or else I didn't understand, what do you mean by "local path"?

Hi GDX,

It works here for the .SG files (both from ZIP or from inside a directory). There's no special treatment of the .SG files compared to other types, everything is just defined in the SR.INI file. If your SG1000.COM launcher (which is MSX-DOS 1 based right ?) works, it should work for other types too.

I checked to command lines issued by SofaRun and they are all using the "local and short" path.

Can you send me the contents of your SofaRun directory in a ZIP file (including the SR.INI file), also with the other launchers you are using ?

Also, would you agree to have your SG1000.COM included as a default launcher in the SofaRun distribution ? (I think I already asked you in another thread)

Ok, I've just put online some changes based on yesterday's feedbacks. See the main news thread.

Hello, just tried in my Zemmix and I can't get working 2nd SCC in patched games like Gradius or Nemesis 3. I can't see any option to activate 2 SCCs, but in previous version (I used SR 5.0 until now) I got samples without any required config.
How can I get working both SCCs? Thanks.

Hi AxelStone,

So I've added options to select the OCM slots mode in SofaRun (just re-download).

It works for Victor's enhanced Gradius version (just set the "Slot 1 mode" to "Internal SCC" and you'll have the great additionnal voices), but it does not for Nemesis 3. The PSG to SCC feature also works, but Nemesis 3 refuses to recognize the OCM's internal SCC.

That's pretty weird. It works when you set the "Slot 1 mode" to external and put a real SCC cartridge, but the sounds are very "high-pitched", and looks like a child's voice Smile

I have 3 suppositions so far:

  • Victor's code has probably changed between Gradius and Nemesis 3 enhanced versions ?
  • There's something on the OCM SCC emulation that's a bit different compared to the real hardware (maybe default register values or SCC-RAM) ?
  • Maybe "big" ROMs flashed in slot 2 are messing with SCC emulation in slot 1(Nemesis 3 is 384KB) ??

Anyway, there's something strange here. Maybe Victor could provide some hints ?

Axel, let me know if you have the same issue or not ?

Even when booting a real SCC cartridge in slot 1 (King's Valley 2), the SCC sounds are high-pichted. Is that a known problem with the Zemmix ? (I'm using Kdl firmware with Nextor).

Okay, Louthrax, it works now if I remove the line "ROM=*1". Otherwise, I have the following screen whatever my choice.

When I just added the line below.

ROM=A:\TOOLS\ROM2MMM.COM %f;Run with Rom2MMM

Check the CPU speed, SCC’s use CPU clock if I am not mistaking so if you are running higher than 3.58MHz this will happen.
