ROM file problems with SD-512

I have an SD-512 (with dual slot sd-card and nextor MSX DOS 2.2) and I got it running with sofarun. The problem is that there are a couple of ROMs that I have been unable to run, such as Metal Gear I and Metal Gear 2. Running them leads either to an immediate reset or a reset after the Konami logo appears. I've also tried some of the rom patches to no avail. Can anyone tell me how to run these ROMs, or what to do about ROMs that don't run in general? My machine is a VG8235 with 128KB RAM.

The reset of Metal Gear could be explained by its region protection.If you run the Japanese game on a non-Japanese MSX, it will reset immediately and keep resetting. Try the English version instead.
