(Last?) Update!

Zoo translation.zip

I distribute the accumulated spaces as possible to equilibrate some texts.

When the translation will be confirmed finish by all, can anyone make a page on the Internet or a patch to put on MRC with an explanation?

Updated: http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/Zoo.html

I can add a download link (.DSK and any other format) to that page, together with an accompanying text. I would prefer it though if someone else would write that text :)

@gdx and tfh: If none has a problem with it, I can put the dsk on our Delta Soft site. I will mention it was a joined venture, so don't be afraid I'm trying to get the credits for all the work everyone has done here.

I haven't played through it yet, but I'm kind of assuming it's alright to 'ship' Smile
(And otherwise we'll find out soon enough I guess.. Wink)

Though still something I'm wondering about: I guess you used the TOSEC disk image for this? (I see all versions in there have the same (binary equal) files btw (1 has an autoexec.bas))
Btw: I didn't own an original copy back in the day (shame on me), but I don't recall the 'cracked by' stuff (could have been there though).

I guess TOSEC isn't really an authority (for MSX anyway), and the MSX collection is (partly?) something they collected from the internet? (I feel a lot of .dsk images were created perhaps from .lha archives with just the files) (so for sure those are not 'original') (many of the disk titles are in fact tape dumps so it seems).

So it seems a 'proper' clean dump of this disk doesn't exist (like many others perhaps) on the webs.
But that's probably something for another discussion. If the original actually has a copy-protection (I do wonder about that), then .dsk wouldn't suffice anyway I guess.

@gdx Perhaps the bit you discussed with Grauw a bit can still be improved (still is awkward..):

original: MET <object> KRIJGT U <subject> [NIET OPEN|NIET DICHT]
current: USE <object> MAKES ON <subject> [NO EFFECT|NO CLOSING]

proposed: USING <object> YOU DON'T GET <subject> [OPENED|CLOSED]
or: USING <object> WON'T MAKE <subject> [OPEN|CLOSE]

But (reading back a bit) it seems you can't extend these texts right?
Let's think about this a little bit more.. Wink

- edit: using HAS instead of MAKES seems better:

USE <object> HAS ON <subject> [NO EFFECT|NO EFFECT]

You don't need to close anything actually (but you can), we could just repeat NO EFFECT here (looks better).

Or (w/ is short for with):

W/ <object> YOU GET <subject> [NOT OPEN|NOT CLOSED]

(I guess NOT OPENED would've been better, but doesn't fit.)

I have put the english version on our site where it can be downloaded or played on the webmsx.

@tfh: This is the link: https://remymsx2.home.xs4all.nl/download/zoo%20(english).zip

Btw @gdx: I guess it's even better / makes more sense to remove USE (just use nothing).
<object> HAS ON <subject> [NO EFFECT|NO EFFECT]

W/ <object> YOU GET <subject> [NOT OPEN|NOT CLOSED]
Is closer to the original, only we would have to settle with the informal slash abbreviation.

Opinions (anyone)?

I can't remove USE but only replace it by spaces. This shifts the text in the window and does not make proper. The best is replace MET by WITH but It lacks a character. Only a advanced program hack could fix that but it takes too long for me. A volunteer?

About HAS ON, it makes a hole in the sentence with the remaining spaces. I therefore prefer MAKES ON.

I can replace NO CLOSING by NO EFFECT if you prefer.

I tried to place the correct link here but apperently spaces aren't allowed.. https://remymsx2.home.xs4all.nl/download/zoo%20(english).zip

Okay, I read back a little closer...

I end up with 2 somewhat nice alternatives.
Like Grauw proposed (1): USE <object> ........ <subject> [WON'T OPEN|WON'T CLOSE]

But that's only possibile if NIET DICHT / NIET OPEN can be extended(?)

or (2): USE <object> ...MAKES <subject> [NOT OPEN |NOT CLOSE ]
