I remember someone (I think Nyyrikki or BiFi) made a program which emulated the tape saving on TR by using its SRAM (or something like that).

What's the name of the program and where can I find it?? Does it work with cartridge games which have the save on tape option??

No, I have not made such a program, but here are my old instructions, how to make MSX tR to save to cassette. Yes, this should normally work also with cartridge games, but it has not been tested. To make it to work with cartridge, you have to insert the cartridge while computer is on. NOTE: This may damage your blah blah etc. etc.

I think, that this is not very usable, but AFAIK there is no better solution at the moment for your problem.

Actually I just checked TRCAS readme, and it might be the program you need. Look for Download/Utils/tape

Indeed I made such a little tool. It uses the MSXturboR S-RAM and it patches the cassette BIOS entries. It does work with cartridge games which have the save to tape option. You do need to install the emulator before starting the game (NYYRIKKI already posted the process of doing that and other disclaimer stuff). It's called EMULTAPE and even though I must have mentioned it somewhere, I can't recall releasing it. This due to the fact I want to enable support for the earlier machines as well.

I'd need to look up the file(s), but if you want it I can mail it to you.

btw, wasn't TRCAS using the sampler?

Looking for some info I found out it was BiFi who did that program, but I haven't found the program itself.

I thought TRCAS was only able to load from tape, not to write... anyway, I'm looking for something to write to SRAM or disk instead of the tape (if it does exist).

BiFi's faster than me! ;-P
I've sent you an e-mail
