The extension is probably .PIC, btw. Not that it matters, but maybe it can be made even more noobfriendly then.

How do you calculate the BMP colour value?

Color r*36,g*36,b*72

so, *yes*, it's not exact .. but no-one can see the difference imho, and by using this, a gradient is really linear, rather than linear with a few jumps in the centre.. (not that anyone sees that Smile )

And iirc pic and sc8 are the same, but I could probably add it in v1.1 Smile

fixed ... blue is now '*84' ... meaning that full white is 252,252,252

same link, but now v1.1

added .pic .. but that's assuming .pic and .sc8 are the same format! (that is: I use my sc8 loader for that same .pic Smile )

???

From the blueMSX manual :

PrtScrn - Saves a filtered screenshot (320 x 240 pixels in small window mode, 640 x 480 pixels in large window mode or in fullscreen mode).

RAlt+F11 - Saves a small unfiltered screenshot (272 x 240 pixels).

RAlt+F12 - Saves a large unfiltered screenshot (544 x 480 pixels).

...

In all cases, the .bmp files are stored in the Screenshots directory (of blueMSX)

@wolf: blue is not linear... better use a lookup table for that one... 0, 72, 145, 255 that way you should also have proper greys in your util...

About screen 8, it´s really easy to convert it to PC format, but backwards ... if you use nearest color to pictures, the results seems no good.

By the way, watch the results of reducing 24 bit color to 8 colors using error diffusion at:
www.msx.org/photo15gal44.html
It's screen 7, 512 x 424 (interlaced).
